This fine jewelry store is owned and operated by Jose Brilanti of the Brilanti family, well known and respected jewelry designers for several generations. La Casa del Opalo is a direct outlet for the Mexican fire opal mines in Magdelana, Jalisco. The opal gemstones come from the mines and also utilize their jewelry designers for many of the finished pieces. The finest quality of gemstones is guaranteed.
 
Fire Opals may  be purchased set or loose. Stones and mounted jewelry may be purchased retail or wholesale. The mounted jewelry is very finely crafted in elegant designs to satisfy the most sophisticated woman. The selection of opals is extensive and covers the full range of the color spectrum and in all sizes up to an impressive extravagant stone of 75 carats that is spectacular.

Opal was formed many millions of years ago from silica in volcanic rocks. Silica carried by water was deposited in voids left by gas bubbles and in rock fractures. The silica instead of crystallizing solidified from a gel to form microscopic spheres. Water was trapped in these spheres so that light passing through them is broken into a spectrum creating a rainbow.


Besides the Mexican fire opal, La Casa del Opalo carries Australian opal, topaz, amethyst, diamonds, labradorite, rainbow obsidian, moonstone, turquoise, malachite, tiger eye, lapis lazuli, mystic topaz (man made), quartz and more.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
